The 2019-20 Premier League marked its 28th season from 9th August 2019, since its origin in 1992. There are going to be 20 teams in the league as usual, playing twice against each other, home and away.
All the teams will play 38 matches each, in the season spanned across 9 months and at the end of it all, whoever has the maximum points will lift the trophy. There aren’t going to be any knockouts.
It is going to be the first Premier League season where the VAR system will be used. Manchester City have come into the Premier League 2019-20 as the reigning champions.
Teams
Twenty teams would be competing for the title, seventeen from the previous season and three which are promoted from the 2018-19 EFL Championship.
Every season, three teams which finish at the bottom of the the Premier League points table get relegated to the second tier of English Football, which is the EFL Championship, while three teams from the Championship get promoted to the Premier League.

Norwich City and Aston Villa have made it to the Premier League after 3 years of absence, while Sheffield United have marked their return after a long gap of 12 years.
