Hailing from West Bengal, Atanu Das started playing the sport at the age of 14. The Indian player then moved to Tata Archery Academy in 2008. He was trained under the Korean coach Lime Chae Wong. He made his international debut in 2008. He won the first International award in the year 2008.

Atanu Das was born on 5th April 1992 and hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. He did his schooling from Baranagar Narendranath University, Salem, Tamil Nadu. The 27-year old loves to dance, listen to music and travel in is his pastime. Atanu Das got engaged to former world number one and a Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Deepika Kumari in 2018.

Started his journey in becoming a professional Archery player at the age of 14, Atanu Das has grown by leaps and bounds. He made his International Debut in the year 2008.

Atanu Das happened to be the lone Indian Archery player in the Rio Olympics. He fought his way to reach the quarter-finals before losing out a very tight contest against South Korea’s Seungyan Lee by 28-30, 30-28, 27-27, 27-28, 28-28.

He won his first Gold Medal in Recurve Men’s Individual in 2011 Asian Grand Prix. Atanu represented India in the sport of Archery in Rio Olympics.

The archer bagged Gold Medal in Recurve Mixed Team in 2011 Asian Grand Prix, followed by a silver medal in Recurve Mixed Team in 2014 Archery World Cup.
