Bengal Warriors is a Kabaddi franchise based in Kolkata, West Bengal that came into inception during the inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi League. The team is captained by Surjeet Singh and coached by Jagdish Kumble and play all their local matches at the Netaji Indoor stadium. The Bengal Warrior franchise is owned by Future group promoted by Kishore Biyani. It has been a roller coaster ride for Bengal Warriors, the team managed to win reach the play off thrice and couldn’t win a single season till date. The fans are expecting Bengal Warriors to rewrite the history this time and give them something to cheer. Lets have a look at how they performed in the last six seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League:

Season 1 ( 2014)
Season 1 was a total disaster for Bengal Warriors as the Kolkata based franchise finished second last in the inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi League. They played a total of 14 matches, won 4 and lost 9 matches, and 1 match resulted in a draw. The team ended with 24 points in the table.
Best Raider– Nitin Madane (78 raid points in 12 matches)
Best Defender– Nilesh Shinde (25 tackle points in 14 matches)

Season 2 (2015)
Season 2 was a slightly improved season as they finished sixth in the standings of Pro Kabaddi League Season 2. They played a total of 14 matches, winning 4 and losing 9 matches, 1 match resulted in a draw. The team ended with 27 points.
Best Raider– Mahender Rajput ( 37 raid points in 12 matches)
Best Defender– Nilesh Shinde ( 21 tackle points in 12 matches)

Season 3 (2016)
This was the first season when Bengal Warriors rose to the occasion and reached the play offs for the first time in the Pro Kabaddi League history, finishing fourth in the team standings. They played a total of 14 matches, wining 9, losing 5 matches and the team ended with 47 points.
Best Raider– Nitin Tomar (68 raid points in 10 matches)
Best Defender– Bajirao Hodage (36 tackle points in 16 matches)

Season 4 (2016)
After spectacular performance in Pro Kabaddi League Season 3, much was expected from Bengal Warriors, but that wasn’t the case as the Kolkata based franchise finished eighth in the team standings. They played a total of 14 matches, won 3 and lost 9 matches. 2 matches resulted in a draw and the team ended with 26 points.

Season 5 (2017)
Season 5 proved to be the turning point for Bengal Warriors as the franchise started off the season as underdog, but despite all odds, they not only qualified for the play offs, but finished top of the standings in their respective zone. They played a total of 22 matches, won 11 and lost 5 matches, while 6 resulted in a draw and the team ended with 77 points.

Best Defender– Surjeet Singh (72 tackle points in 24 matches)

Season 6 (2018)
Bengal Warriors resumed their purple patch in the season 6 too as they reached the play offs second time in a row, but couldn’t reached the finals despite all valiant efforts, going down against Dabang Delhi. The team played a total of 22 matches, won 12 and lost 8 matches, 2 matches resulted in a draw and the team earned a total of 69 points.

Best Defender– Surjeet Singh (52 tackle points in 23 matches)
