Chad Gable Biography: Charles Betts, popularly known by his ring name Chad Gable, is an American professional wrestler, currently working with World Wrestling Entertainment on the Smackdown brand. Gable has recently made his place into the finals of the King of the Ring, where he was ultimately defeated by Barron Corbin. Gable came into limelight when he participated at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London for amateur wrestling.

As an amateur wrestler, Gable clinched a victory over  Jordan Holm in the final of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 84 kg category. He had also defeated  Keitani Graham in the qualification round. After showing his wrestling ability in Olympics, Gable decided to turn his head towards professional wrestling.

In 2013, Betts signed a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, where he was assigned to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, under the ring name Chad Gable. He made his NXT debut in 2014 defeating Troy McClain. He also formed a tag team with Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan and the pair won the NXT Tag Team Championship.  In 2018, Gable and Jordan also defeated Randy Orton and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family, Heath Slater, and Rhyno, and The Usos in a four corners elimination match to become the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Gable also teamed up with Roode to defeat AOP (Akam and Rezar) in a three-on-two handicap to capture the Raw Tag Team Championship. With this victory,  Gable became the second man to have won the NXT, SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Championships.

Charles Betts was born on March 8, 1986, in Saint Michael, Minnesota, U.S. Betts persuaded his graduation course from Northern Michigan University. Since his childhood, Gable developed his interest in wrestling that made him a Minnesota high school state runner-up. He appeared at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials where he clinched a victory over Jordan Holm in the final of the  Trials in the 84 kg category. He had also defeated  Keitani Graham from the Federated States of Micronesia in the qualification round.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE

In 2016, The American Alpha was drafted to the SmackDown brand and battled for WWE  SmackDown Tag Team Championship against tag teams such as Breezango and The Usos.  The American Alpha bagged the  SmackDown Tag Team Championship title by defeating Orton and Harper of The Wyatt Family, Heath Slater and Rhyno, and The Usos in a four corners elimination match. However, American Alpha lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to The Usos on Smackdown Live episode in 2017.

Gable also teamed up with Shelton Benjamin and clinched heir first tag team victory over  The Ascension. Benjamin and Gable also defeated The Hype Bros, The Ascension and Breezango in a fatal four-way match to bag an opportunity of becoming the number one contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. However, the defending champions The Usos retained their championships. After Gable was drafted to Raw in 2018, he formed a tag team with Bobby Roode and went on to defeat The Ascension.  Gable and Roode defeated AOP (Akam and Rezar) in a three-on-two handicap to become the Raw Tag Team Champions. With the win, Gable became the second man after his former partner Jason Jordan to have won the NXT, SmackDown, and Raw Tag Team Championships.

Gable has recently participated in the King of the Ring tournament where he defeated  Shelton Benjamin,  Andrade, and Shane McMahon to make his way to the final. Gable battled  Baron Corbin in the finals of the King of the Ring, however, he tasted the defeat at the end.
