Georginio Wijnaldum Biography: Emile Wijnaldum is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Netherlands national team and Premier League Club Liverpool, Wijnaldum made his football debut through the club Feyenoord, in 2007. He spent five years in the club appearing over 134 matches after which he left the club to join PSV Eindhoven, he spent another four-season at PSV Eindhoven leading the team to lift the KNVB Cup in his very first season, for which he was honored the ‘Dutch Footballer of the Year’. In 2015 he joined the Premier League side Newcastle United for 14.5 million Euros but soon after spending a year with the club he joined Liverpool for 23 million Euros. In the semi-final match of 2019 UEFA Champions League against Barcelona, he netted two crucial goals to make way for his team to the finals by 4-3, In the finals they fought against Tottenham Hotspur in which Salah and Origi netted one goal each, to win the League by 0-2.

Georginio was born on 11th November 1990 in Rotterdam, South Holland Netherlands, to Ramon van La Parra (father) and Maureen Wijnaldum (mother). Unfortunately, the relationship between his parents doesn’t last long and the couple separated, when Wijnaldum was six years old, after the divorce his mother moved to Amsterdam, while Wijnaldum decided to stay in Rotterdam with his grandmother. Wijnaldum doesn’t seek any interest in football, he never watched football or never played with the ball. He aspired to become a gymnast or an acrobat, in the future. But the plan changed when he was asked by his nephew to come the Sparta Rotterdam’s opening day, his life took a major turn after that. He joined the academy and started learning skills and traits of football. He was a quick learner, in no time he made a place in the youth squad of the academy. Spending over seven years in Sparta he moved to Feyenoord to boom his football carrier as a youth.

Wijnaldum, in Feyenoord, was accompanied by the Leroy Fer and Luis Perdo, who were ready to lead a successful era for Feyenoord in the future. Spending a few weeks in the club, when Wijnaldum turned 16, he was invited in the first team training camp in Belek, Turkey after the Feyenoord Manager Erwin Koeman recommended his name. On 29th June 2011, the technical director of Feyenoord announced the transfer of Wijnaldum to PSV in a 5 million Euros deal. Playing for PSV, he grew his ranks and was offered the number 10 shirt. During this time, Wijnaldum also became famous for his cool hairstyles. On 11th July 2015, Wijnaldum joined the English Premier League club Newcastle United on a five-year contract for a fee of 14.5 million Euros, the transfer cost made him the most expensive signing of Mike Ashley’s ownership.

In a match against Liverpool when he netted two goals to win the match by 2-0, Liverpool’s interest aroused for him after that. Keeping a track upon the Wijnaldum performances in the season, they drop a 23 million Euro offer on Newcastle’s table to hire Wijnaldum. He was given the number 5 shirt in the team. For his National Team, he made his international debut on 2nd September 2011 against San Marino as a substitute, coming-in in the 86th minute, netting his maiden goal on debut, and the final goal in a 11-0 win. He has been a part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup team. Winjnaldum played a crucial role in the tournament, especially the play-off, where he played a crucial role against Brazil in a 3-0 win to secure third place. On 9th September 2018 he made his 50th appearance for the Netherland in a 2-1 UEFA Nations League against the France, the match was eventually won by Netherlands.
