Jamshedpur FC, commonly known as the Men of Steel, is an Indian professional Football club that plays in the Indian Super League under the license provided in the shade of All India Football Federation.

HISTORY

Jamshedpur FC was founded two years ago on 12th June 2017 when the TATA Steel won the bidding rights for one of the two expansion spots in the ISL. The Jamshedpur FC is the first club in ISL which has its own stadium.

The Club played its first match in November 2017 against Northeast United at the Indra Gandhi Athletic Stadium which resulted in a 0-0 draw. The first season for the club was full of learning as the team managed just two victories, four draws, and three defeats.

In 2018, the club learned from previous experiences in ISL and showed improved performances, reaching the knockout stage where they faced a 3-0 defeat at the hands of FC Goa.

Club Ownership

The Club is currently under the ownership of multinational steel-making company TATA Steel. The president of Jamshedpur FC is Sunil Bhaskara and the manager of the club is the retired Spanish Footballer Antonio Iriondo Ortega. The net worth of the club is around 4.15 million Euros

The JRD Tata Sports Complex currently serves as the home ground of the Jamshedpur FC. The stadium has a net capacity to hold 24, 424 spectators.
